First, let me thank you for stopping by
to visit our web site. It would be great to have the chance to visit
with you personally at Bethel some Sunday morning in the near future.
We enjoy lifting high the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ as we
regularly gather around God’s Word, share our faith, and offer our
praises to God for all that He has done for us. It is always a special
joy when we have the opportunity to share our time together, in God’s
House, with people like you.
Following my graduation from
Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis (1974), I served as pastor of
St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Berlin, Illinois until 1980. Prior to
coming to Grandville in October of 1995, I also served on the pastoral
staff of Hosanna-Tabor Lutheran Church in Redford, Michigan - a near
western suburb of Detroit. My wife, Karen, and I are both originally
from the Buffalo, New York area. With a degree in education, Karen has
taught both high school and pre-school for a number of years. My
interests range from reading to any number of sports although, in
recent years, we’ve found it challenging enough to keep up with our
kids as they’ve made their way through grade school, high school and
college. Our son Kyle is a civil engineer. He and his wife, Danielle
live and work in the Lansing area. Our daughter, Jill, is the sixth
grade teacher at Peace Lutheran School in Shelby Township, Michigan.
I’d like you to know that you have
an open invitation to join us for worship as you have the opportunity
to do so. If you are in the process of moving to the Grand Rapids -
Grandville area, or presently are in search of a church home, I’d be
more than happy to share any information you would find helpful, or
answer any questions you might have concerning Bethel Lutheran Church.
Please feel free to contact me, either by writing or through the church
office (616-534-3364) at your earliest convenience.
